Sephiroth’s Story By: Heartless
My name is Sephiroth. My whole life I have been neglected and ignored by everyone. Until I joined SOLDIER, an elite group of fighting soldiers, dedicated to protecting those who work for the biggest corporation in the world, ShinRa.
I woke up one day after getting in a fight with some random person who thought they were stronger than me, in a jail cell near the town called Kalm. I looked outside and saw the mountains to the north and the city called Midgar located to the south. Midgar is where I got in that fight last night, I thought to myself. “Wake up maggot!” I heard a man yelling to a person in the cell next to mine. I heard some rumbling to my right and heard the prisoner yell back at the man in some unknown language to me. The man standing outside came to my cell next. He got ready to yell at me, but I looked him in the eyes, and he stopped. “Well well. What do we have here? Another smart ass huh? You think you can scare me!?” he asked to me. I stood up for a moment and glared at the man. His long black hair made me think of the man I had just beaten the last night. Then I realized a cut below his right eye. This was the man I fought last night. He smiled at me, as he noticed that I recognized him. “He he. Looks like you are the one that is scared now. Last night was fun. You thought you had beaten me, but after you turned your back on me, I struck and took you down.” I looked at him for a while, then turned my back to him. “You look at me when I am speaking to you!” he yelled. I turned around and spat in his face. “I don’t talk to losers that have to do back attacks to win! It’s your kind that gives fighting a bad name.” “Well you still want some huh? Oh well, I can’t let you loose even to fight me now. You are in the Kalm Penitentiary. The best jail in the world. If I were to let you free for even a moment I would be shot down by every guard in this jailhouse. If you were to break out, then I would gladly take you out again. But, if you break out, I don’t think you would make it very far. There are seven guards per cell in this place. Only the best could work, so we hired the SOLDIER’s to protect us” “Wait, what is a SOLDIER?” “You don’t know? Wow you are way behind the times. The SOLDIER are an elite fighting force who work for ShinRa. They are the best of the best in the world.” He looked content on knowing so much about the SOLDIER. I stared at the ground for a while and thought to myself. After a few moments, the man left the front of my cell and began to yell at other prisoners. I sat down on the hard bed in the far left corner of my cell. The sink in front of it had some bad smelling goo coming out of it. After what seemed to be an hour of just sitting there thinking, the man from before came again. “Get up! It’s time to go exercise.” he yelled. It stood up and looked at the man. He looked like he was having fun pushing me around all the time. After a moment of staring at each other, he opened the cell for me to go out. I got up off of my bed and walked to the exit. Before I could do anything the man hit me across the back of the head with a metal rod, and I blacked out. I awoke in what seemed to be the exercise room. There were all kinds of weights and people lifting them. There was nothing there that I could do seeing as all the weights were taken by other people, so I just sat down for a while. When I noticed that someone was done, I went over to the open weight bench. I began to lift the weights that the man from before had on there. They were nothing to me. He only has 150 pounds on here. Man that guy is weak. I began to pick up some of the extra weights around the room and began to put them on. All the other people in the room looked at me really weird, so I asked them what they were looking at. “Dude, are you sure you can lift that. You are puny. I mean your arms look like they would collapse just holding those weights. Let alone lifting all of them at the same time.” I nodded my head and he shook his head at me and began to laugh. At this moment I was getting angry. Not only was I a prisoner, but I had people laughing at me because I was stronger than them. I continued to put weights on the bar until it reached 600 pounds. This made all the other guys laugh. I sat down and got into the lifting position. I picked up the weights and the people around me began to shut up. The laughing almost stopped instantly. I looked at them and said, “What?” They all backed a few feet away from me and looked at the weights. I looked up at them and smiled. This was too easy. I put the weight bar back on the bench and sat back up. I looked around for more weights and put them on. I got back down and picked them back up. This time it was a little harder. When I looked at the bar this time I noticed I was lifting 850 pounds. I lifted this for a little while, while everyone looked at me in awe. After about 50 lifts, I put the bar back o the bench and sat up. I began to take off the weights so that other people could play around on it. I stood up and got back into the corner that I awoke in. The others soon began to pick up the pace and began lifting even harder than when I woke up. I looked around for the man that knocked me out. He was no where to be found in this building. For about an hour of sitting there, nothing happened that would make me remember. But then something happened. The man that knocked me out came into the room. He looked at me and walked in my direction. I stood up and waited for him to reach me. When he got within three feet he stopped. “So 850 pounds huh? Not bad. Maybe if you were good enough, you could possibly even make it to my rank of SOLDIER. But they don’t take criminals like you very often.” I looked at him and decided right there. I wanted to be in SOLDIER. If I was good enough to be at least the rank of this man, I would do whatever it took. “What do I have to do?” I asked him. He looked at me for a moment and laughed. “You think you have what it takes to get into SOLDIER? Hhhmmmm. Let me see here. The last criminal they let in lasted for about an hour into training and collapsed. However you look like you could last a little longer. Are you sure you want to be in SOLDIER? The path is a long and hard on to even be put into a rank.” “I’m sure. I’ll do whatever it takes to get to the top.” He looked at me and smiled. He signaled to me to follow him. We left the room and all the people left stared at us as we left. The wooden door slammed as we left the room. We kept walking for a while before anything was said. “I’ll go ahead and tell you, this will be the hardest thing you have ever done if you are accepted by the boss. He is not that nice of a person and takes to new recruits very badly. Not to worry though. If he thinks you can beat him in combat, he will be a little nicer.” I looked at the man for a moment while we walked and noticed for the first time the blue uniform he was wearing. I noticed that from somewhere. He was one of the Turks. He wasn’t in SOLDIER at all. So was he going to make me become a Turk or was he really taking me to a place to meet the boss of SOLDIER. “Um. I have a question. Are you taking me to meet the boss of the Turks or SOLDIER?” I asked him. “Ah, you noticed my uniform. Well I may just be a Turk, but you have the potential to be in SOLDIER, so I’m taking you to their boss. By the way, I don’t think any prisoner has ever impressed me as much as you to make me want to take you to the boss.” “You keep saying the boss, what is his name so I can address him correctly when I meet him.” “Oh him. Let me think for a second. His name was. God I can’t remember right now. Ah! I remember now. His name is Heidegar. He has a horse laugh, so don’t laugh when he does. Or he will think you are making fun of him.” “All right then. No laughing. Got it.” I nodded my head and looked at the hallway that we were walking through. “Um. I don’t mean to sound like a little kid, but are we almost there. I’m tired of this hallway, it gives me the creeps.” “Yes we are almost there. Take a right here.” We took a right turn in the hallway and came to a door. We stopped there and he told me to go on in. I did and saw a fat man with a black beard sitting at the desk. He looked in my direction and said, “You the man that can lift over 800 pounds?” I nodded my head and he laughed. The same horse laugh that I was warned about. “You are so puny. Are you serious in thinking you have what it take to be in SOLDIER?” I nodded my head again and he straightened up. “Well there is only one good way to tell if you are ready to be in SOLDIER or not. We will fight and see who wins. If you win then, you are in. If you lose, then I will give you another year in this hell-hole for wasting my time. He pushed his work desk back and got in a fighting pose. I got into my fighting stance and stared Heidegar in the eyes.
this is the beginning of my newest attempt of a story...i think it is turning out pretty well and seems to be coming naturally to me...hope you like it

Yes it's good of how you created the origin of Sephiroph, for FFVII, the game never did tell us how he exactly got into SOLDIER.

well im trying to make it tie into FFVII as much as possible...remember this is before VII and this is like his upcoming to power before the game...i plan on having the next chapter up next week or so...the main difference in the story and the game is that i will be randomizing some of the actions taken by characters, making them not seem as they really are...i dont know if that made any sense at all to you...but i have a decent plan for this....hope you all will like my next installment...

Sephiroth’s Story: Chapter 2
I don’t exactly recollect the things that happened during our fight, but I know this: I could not have won that battle. When I awoke, I was in the hospital wing of the prison. My head was aching and my legs did not have any feeling. I looked down just in case, and saw my legs intact, but a bit scratched up. There was a Turk figure to my right, but I could not tell who it was. His dark brown hair flowed down like nothing I had ever seen before. When he noticed me looking at him, he turned around and walked away. From the distance I hear, “Yes sir, he is awake.” I saw the man put something black in his pocket right before he walked on down the hall. Wondering who he was talking to, I got up and waited for someone to come to the room. When I noticed no one coming in, I laid back down and rested my head on the pillow. I laid there for a few moments trying to recollect the pieces of the battle. But for some reason, not a piece came back to me. I relaxed a bit as I realized I was not going to remember and I looked to my right. On the bed there was a middle aged man, probably in his thirties. He looked fine, so he must have been suffering from some kind of illness. After a while I looked to my left. On the bed there was a man that looked extremely familiar. His face was covered in blood from top to bottom. His body was massive, both in the stomach and in the ways of strength. His green shirt told me exactly who he was. Before I could think of anything more, I got to my feet and walked over to the bed. It was Heidegar. He was in really bad shape by the looks of him. I turned around and looked for a nurse. When I realized there was none in the room, I went outside and looked for one. In the hallway I found a young girl nurse. She looked at me in awe, when I realized I was not wearing anything. I ran back to my room and put on some pants that I found at the foot of my bed, and a blue shirt that I also found there. I walked back out of my room to find the nurse again. When I found her again, she looked a little embarrassed. I walked to her and noticed her beauty. Her long brown hair flowed like water in a river from her head. Her green eyes illuminated what dark there was in the room. I found it hard to talk to her, but I somehow managed. “What happened to Heidegar?” I asked. “Don’t you remember? You two fought in his room and you completely annihilated him. We heard screaming from his room and noticed you beating on him left and right. You were not going to let us through to him, so we had to tranquilize you.”, she explained as I looked in amazement. “So I…beat Heidegar? How? He is a trained master, and I am a lowly street fighter.” She nodded her head and brought me to my room. When there, she told me what was wrong with him. “Both of his arms are broken in about the same place. His back is barely intact. And we are having to keep him in IVs in order to keep his blood count up.” When I looked at him again, I noticed he was till bleeding constantly from the face. He looked miserable, and I felt terrible. The nurse told me to get some rest as I would need it, for I was going back to my prison cell that night. I decided to go ahead and get a little sleep, and got in bed and covered up. I awoke to a loud bang in the background. The sound did not come from my room, but what seemed like a couple rooms down. I got up and decided to investigate the sound. I walked out of my room while putting my clothes back on. When I got into the hall, there was a man standing a few feet from me. He had a shotgun in one hand and a fire extinguisher in the other. I looked at him for a moment and noticed he was a Turk. It was the same one from my room earlier that day. When he saw me again, he tossed the extinguisher at me. I caught it and looked bewildered as to what to do with it. He pointed in the room a few feet from where he was. I looked in the room to see it full of full fledged flames. I took the extinguisher and took out the flames. As the fire died, the Turk behind me hit me in the back of the head with his shotgun. I fell to the ground with a thump and was knocked out cold. When I rose I was in a bright room. The lights were turned on above my head, along with the lights on the walls and some under the glass floor. I put my feet off of the bed and placed them on the floor. My head started to ache really bad, so I laid back down in the bed and rested on the pillow. I could not, however, fall asleep. The light was too bright and the thoughts of the Turk striking me from behind kept running through my mind. I decided to get up no matter what the pain and stood on the floor. I looked around, but could not see a door to go outside. There did not seem to be any kind of trap door or device that I could go through to find the exit, so I gave up and sat back on the bed, with my feet hanging off the side. I thought for a few moments about the happenings of the last couple of days and came to think, ‘what did I do to deserve all of this.’ Suddenly there was a sound coming from the wall. Soon the wall curved upward and a person walked through the new opening. It was the Turk that struck me from behind again. I almost got up and struck at him with my fists, but I noticed the shotgun in his hands again. “I’m really sorry about that. But the boss commanded me to take you from the hospital. See you have what it takes to be a supreme Turk. You have all the qualities in a fighter, and seeing as the SOLDIER commander is down and out due to you, we can now be the leaders. We could really use someone of your strength to be a Turk. You interested?” he asked. “I thought I was going to be in SOLDIER. I wanted to be the best SOLDIER ever known to man. I WILL be the best SOLDIER known to man. I’m sorry but I must refuse your offer.” I told him in all sincerity. He went to bring the shotgun up again to hit me with, but I was too fast for him. I struck the gun with my arm throwing it out of his hands. He seemed speechless and began to walk away after his gun. When he reached it, he reached down and got it from the floor. He dusted it off and walked through where he had come from. The door stayed open, so I decided to go in through it. While I walked through the door I heard a loud bang, and an instant later, there was a bullet heading in my direction. With my lightning reflexes, I dodged the bullet just in time, managing to only get a little scrape on my arm. I looked in the direction of the gunman and saw the same Turk. He smiled and walked off in the opposite direction. I looked behind me and noticed a man with a knife in his hand pointing at me. Before I could do anything to stop the man from stabbing me, he fell over with a thump on the cold ground. Blood oozed from the man’s bullet wound. I began to walk in the direction of the Turk. While walking it suddenly became very warm. The air turned hot and humid. I kept walking through the darkness and saw a figure ahead of me. Thinking it was the Turk I followed it. When I reached where the figure has stood, there was nothing at all. However, from that point I saw a light coming from a room beyond. I began to walk in its direction and came into the light. I entered the room to find a room full of bandit figures. They all smiled at me when I walked into the room. I looked at them all and not a single one was a Turk. They all unsheathed their swords and gleamed them in the light. I stood for a moment and nothing happened. Suddenly from my right, a bandit attacked. I waited until he got real close and kicked him in the chest. He dropped his sword to the ground, and I picked it up. He came back again and I took the sword and sliced it at the man. Nothing seemed to happen at first, but soon the man fell into tow pieces, vertically. The others then decided to attack me. I blocked three swords from my left and dodged two from the right. The two from my right collided with the body of one man on the left, killing him on contact. These people were dangerous. I took my new sword and sliced it at one of the men on the left, but he dodged easily. As I turned to attack another man, a bandit swung his blade at me, and I barely managed to dodge. I kicked out with my right foot, managing to make contact with one of the men on my right. Using my left foot for balance, I swung my right foot at another man and barely nicked him causing him to lose his balance. A man on my left stabbed at my side, only managing to take some of my shirt. I looked amazed at my skills. I was never able to do this before. A man on my right swing his blade at me again, this time making contact with my side. But the blade did not go far into the skin, leaving me with time to swing my blade at him. My swing made full contact, leaving the man with no right arm. His blade dropped to the ground as he kneeled down and grabbed at his new wound. The remaining two men began to frantically swing their swords at me. With mine I blocked all their attacks. While blocking, I took my left foot this time and kicked one of the men. He fell over in pain as I swung my foot at the remaining standing man. He dodged the kick and stabbed at me. With a nimble movement, I dodged the blade and took mine at the hilt and swung it at him. The blade made contact with the mans neck, rendering the man headless. The remaining man on the floor begged for his life as I brought my sword down on his head. His head split in two, and he fell to the ground. I looked at the man grabbing his cut off hand, and decided to leave him be. I walked off out of the room and waited for a moment, catching my breath.
